In April 2001 the Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission purchased a new park with a grant from the Michigan Natural Resource Trust Fund, which was matched by Township park millage funds. This 91-acre park, named Marsh View Park, is located west of Adams Road, between Clarkston and Stoney Creek Roads. The majority of the park consists of rolling meadows and a large wetland complex. A small parking area is available for use along Clarkston Road. Currently, the trails across the meadows are informal but do provide access for hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife observation. During the winter, the site’s rolling topography also lends itself to cross-county skiing and sledding activities. Proposed recreational facilities include nature trails and observation areas near the large wetland complex, trail connections between Bald Mountain State Recreation Area and the Paint Creek Trail, and an active recreation area in the level fields at the southern end of the park. If you are interested in visiting this site, natural feature maps of this park are available at the parks and recreation office.
