SQUARE DANCING IS FUN! BRING YOUR FRIENDS!
Free Square Dances for 2018 -  September 8 with dancing starting at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Please email bbarber@oaklandtownship.org if you would like to receive email reminders.  We dance in the barn or on the lawn under a tent. Come early with picnic dinner or check the office as we may take orders to have a local caterer bring a summer BBQ meal for around $10 per person. We need a minimum of 20 registered for the meal so always best to check the website for details or call the office. 

The square dance is free and open to all – partners’ do-si-do and an allemande left!
 
BEE KEEPING CLASSES IN THE HEN HOUSE!

Thank you for your interest in local honey bees!  Learn all about Beekeeping; classes held inside the Hen House at CLF on the second Saturday of month.
Registration is required please.

Introduction to Beekeeping $5 per person – includes all four sessions!

This class and introduction to Beekeeping is a great way to learn about honeybees, how to keep them, and their importance to our food chain. Meeting once a month: May 12, June 9, July 14, and August 11 with TWO TIME SLOTS (must pick one) 12:30 -1:30 and 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Cranberry Lake Farm, 388 West Predmore Road, Oakland Township, Michigan. Park in the gravel lot and meet in the Hen House (long red building).

Meet your local beekeeper Preston Zale

“Our first meeting will be an overview of bees, beehives, and how to set up a brand new hive. Subsequent meetings will touch on all aspects of beekeeping. We will cover the basics of bees and bee health, beehives and maintenance, and of course, harvesting honey. Our meetings will be held indoor of the hen house with optional trips to visit the hives in the park in walking distance.”
