TIRED OF BEING STUCK INSIDE DURING COVID-19?
WE HAVE THE ANTIDOTE!
IT'S TIME TO GET OUTSIDE into a park where you live!

We all know that spending time in nature provides enormous benefits to our mental and physical health, and at this time we at Oakland Township Parks and Recreation feel that everyone could use the benefits that your local nature park provides. While continuing to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended in response to COVID-19, we would like to encourage everybody to make use of our many nearby parks in Oakland Township as a way to combat the stress that we are all feeling during these difficult times.

As an extra incentive to take advantage of Oakland Township’s beautiful parks we are announcing an impromptu photo contest! Send us pictures of you and your family or friends spending time in our parks sometime between Friday, April 17th and May 15th. Rules are as follows:

  • Submit up to 3 pictures of you and/or your family or friends enjoying nature in one of the Oakland Township parks. Photos may be submitted using any of our social media outlets using the hashtag #walkandwinOTPR or via email to parks@oaklandtownship.org. They can also be submitted in the comments section of the Facebook contest post.
  • With any photo submission, please include the park name and a brief description of the photo.
  • The winning photo and finalists will be posted on Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission Facebook page the week of June 8th.

The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to Piechnik’s Garden Gate Nursery.

By sending us your pictures, you allow us to post them on our website and social media with credit to the photographer.
