Fall Water Flush Scheduled

The community wells and fire hydrants in our Township are scheduled to be flushed October 16-17, and October 23-26. This takes place every spring and fall to flush out the iron sediment that collects and to reduce discolored water.  For more information, please click here.

Consumers Energy AC Mitigation

Beginning this month, Consumers Energy will be working on a project that includes portions of Oakland Township, primarily near the high transmission electrical lines. It is not a pipeline replacement project, but rather, an A/C (alternating current) mitigation project.

In order to prevent certain hazards to gas transmission lines, a copper ribbon is installed underground (2'-3' in depth) in close proximity to the gas line which will dissipate any occurring a/c current.

Residents may notice survey crews followed by installers in these areas. There are approximately six areas where the work will take place and will last roughly one week in each area.

Any questions may be directed to Ms. Lauren Royston, Community Affairs Manager at Lauren.Royston@cmsenergy.com.
