These three workshops are progressive. Learn how to start a hive, where to get bees, how to prepare hives, what equipment is needed and how to use.  Explore the hives at Cranberry Lake Farm to learn about issues to watch out for, bee health, and insecticide.  At the end of the program, you'll learn about harvesting honey! Bring your own bee suit; some extras may be available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Your instructor Dawn Gialanella - Dawn's love for the honeybee began one summer when she noticed how few pollinators were visiting her gardens.  In her search to bring the bees to the surrounding area Dawn began to study the honeybee. Finding it all to be so interesting and exciting that she started her own apiary. Now she is a local beekeeper and owner of the Golden Acre.
